Il Museo della Navigazione Fluviale di Battaglia Terme è nato con l'obiettivo di riportare alla luce un'importante pagina di storia facendo rivivere e conoscere il prezioso lavoro di figure professionali legate al fiume come i barcaioli, i cavalànti, i sabionanti, i squeraroi.
Per molti secoli questo paese, grazie anche alla sua posizione, è stato il fulcro di una vasta rete di commerci fluviali, e attorno al fiume si è sviluppata una vera e propria civiltà.
Il percorso espositivo si articola su tre piani e in cinque sale, ciascuna dedicata a una tematica: le imbarcazioni con le loro componenti e la tipologia; gli attrezzi utilizzati negli squeri; le vie navigabili; strumenti di propulsione; la vita di bordo.

Civic Museum of River Navigation

The Museum of River Navigation in Battaglia Terme was born to bring a vital page of history back to light, reviving and raising awareness on the precious work of professional figures related to the river such as boatmen ¹, workers carrying sand ² and boat-builders³. For many centuries, this village has been the fulcrum of an extensive network of river trades due to its position. The environment was so vibrant that, over time, around the river, there developed an actual civilization. The museum exhibition is divided into three floors and five rooms. Each room represents a specific theme: 

• boats, their components, and typology;
• the tools used in shipyards;
• the waterways;
• propulsion devices;
• life on board.
